| Financial planning is the process of establishing a plan and managing your finances so that you can achieve your clearly defined financial goals. These life goals can include buying a house, saving for your children's education or planning your retirement. In some cases it may include saving for life luxuries like travel or toys such as a boat or a bach. It can also include managing your investments to provide you with an income once retired. In some cases it may include designing insurance portfolios or establishing estate planning strategies.
We are all different and unique - it stands to reason that each goal and each plan will be different but the process will not.
The process of structuring a plan will follow the normal six step financial planning process.
This can be summarised as follows:
-
We assist by obtaining a clear and concise understanding of what your goals and objectives are.
-
We then gather the data as to where you are today.
-
We then provide a plan that evaluates this information and then determine what is needed to achieve your goals.
-
We then put in place a plan of action to get you from where you are today to where your want to be financially.
-
Once we have agreed that this suits your needs, an implementation plan will be put in place.
-
We constantly monitor the plan, and over time make alterations as life's challenges deem necessary.
Our role as financial planners is to assist you in clarifying your goals and working with a team of your professionals to make sure you achieve your financial dreams. We often work closely with your accountant and lawyers, both at the time of establishing the plan and on an ongoing basis.
We see our role as your financial coaches, neither as salespeople nor transaction or order takers. We value our relationship with our clients and aim to be your trusted advisors for many years to come.
