| To become better off, there are three areas in which you can concentrate:
a. Increase your income
b. Decrease your expenses
c. Rearrange your savings
Cash management is essentially about structuring your affairs in such a way that you consistently have a surplus to do something with, preferably something that will help you reach your financial goals. The key elements to cash management include finding out where money is spent, and then utilising structures that assist you in spending where (and how much) you want to spend.
We have worksheets that help you track your expenses, which can then enable us to prepare recommendations on the type of structure relevant (and helpful) to you personally.
Once you know where your hard-earned money is being spent, you are better able to develop a budget for where you want or are prepared for future monies to be spent. The term ‘budgeting' can have negative connotations (like someone waving a big stick!), but cash management needn't be thought of in such light. Our role isn't to tell you how much to spend, or where to spend it, but to simply help you structure your banking affairs in such a way that makes it easy to only spend what you want. You're in control! As such, better terminology is to use the phrase ‘spending plan' as opposed to ‘budgeting'.
