| Regardless of whether it is a financial plan for an individual or a business, the key is having clearly defined goals and a plan of action to achieve these goals. A majority of businesses in New Zealand are small to medium enterprises (SME's) and as such normally employ less than five people. These businesses are the backbone of the New Zealand economy and often rely solely on the expertise and energy of the owners. Great examples of these are builders, electricians, sharemilkers and farmers. One of the problems many of these individuals and companies have is getting the time to work on their businesses, not just working in their businesses.
At WealthDesign we work alongside these SME's to assist them in achieving their goals and to put in place structures to help them monitor their progress and coach the owners on a regular basis. In doing this we often work closely with their accountants, lawyers, farm advisers and financiers as part of an ongoing plan.
As part of the service of "Small Business and Rural Business Consultancy" WealthDesign often works with our clients to produce a business plan. This business plan will incorporate things like business goals, succession planning, marketing plans, monitoring of sales and other financial data and staff planning/performance monitoring.
At WealthDesign we are not accountants or lawyers, but our role is to bring all the other professional advisers together to make sure that you, the business owner, achieve your potential.
