John Barber

John John has a strong focus on client relationships and loves taking a pivotal role in assisting his clients achieve their financial goals. He has been assisting clients plan their affairs since 1987, and has built up a strong and loyal financial planning client base within the Manawatu, Taranaki, Hawkes Bay and Wellington areas. He is passionate about investing and enjoys working with adviser and support teams in assisting his clients to achieve their financial destinies.

John comes from a long tradition of farming in the Manawatu. After finishing his schooling in the Manawatu, John completed a Diploma in Agriculture and in Farm Management with the goal to continue the family tradition, but after a stint travelling the world, he became interested in the financial services industry instead. John is active within the financial planning industry. He is an active member of the industry association (IFA and SIFA), attends industry conferences and training courses plus exceeds the ongoing education studies programme.

John has been married to Kris since 1986. Together they have two fabulous daughters, Fran and Meg. Kris is actively involved in WealthDesign. John and Kris have a strong family focus and as a family the Barber’s are keen Taupo boaties and love nothing more than a day fishing or water-skiing. Like many people brought up in a rural atmosphere, John and the family have a love for the outdoors and sport in general.
